On September 24th, 2013 Dream Ride Projects and the Lancaster League of American Bicyclists joined a large group of transportation funding advocates calling for the PA House to vote YES for the Transportation Funding Bill to be presented so that roads, bridges and transit will be funded and work can be started by Spring of 2014. Support for Transit and Bicycling Infrastructure will go a long way to improving our region’s AIR QUALITY, which remains the primary focus for us at Dream Ride Projects.
Executive Director Mike Ridgeway joined fellow bicyclists, business & labor representatives and leaders from State Chambers of Commerce at a press conference held in the Capitol Complex Media Center (Harrisburg) that called for the Legislators to vote for the Bill without any of the historical amendments as a pure transportation funding bill. DRP Executive Director and Lancaster League of American Bicyclists member Mike Ridgeway explains to colleagues the partnership opportunity bicyclists have with Transit Authorities to create “Commuter Routes” for bicyclists that coincide with Transit Routes, providing bicyclists of all levels a safer passage and guaranteed ride home in case of emergencies while in route to home and work, leveraging true multi-modal transportation funds, making communities more bicycle friendly and improving air quality.
