Dream Ride Projects’ Board Member & UDS Service Dogs Dream Team member Tom Barron’s Dream Ride Lancaster “Encore Ride” scheduled for Saturday October 12 is now being scheduled for Saturday October 19th leaving Community Bible Church at 9:00AM sharp!
The original route selection has been revised to promote a proposed new addition to the 2014 Dream Ride Lancaster bike routes which adds a 50-mile “Half Century Tour” to the event’s route offerings. The new route will feature segments of the Lancaster Bicycle Club’s Loop Bike Route that is being rejuvenated by members of the Lancaster League of American Bicyclists as a Memorial Bike Route for local First Responders, with a proposed name, 9-11 Memorial Bicycle Route.
Mr. Barron is inviting ALL bicyclists to join him on Saturday’s ride as he attempts to fulfill his fundraising commitment to the UDS Service Dogs Program as he was unable to participate as a rider in the September 21 Dream Ride Lancaster event.
An additional activity for this ride will be an opportunity for participants joining Barron to assist in a “Bikeability Audit” of a section of the route during the ride. As an incentive for participation in this ride/audit Dream Ride Projects is offering an opportunity for participants to win one of several 2012 and 2013 Dream Ride Lancaster Commemorative Cycling Jerseys that will be raffled off at the end of a series of 3 audit rides to be completed by Sunday November 3, 2013. The jersey sizes available for the raffle are the following; 2012 1 Women’s Small Club Fit, 2 Women’s Medium Club Fit, 1 Men’s Small Club Fit, 2 Men’s Medium Club Fit, and 1 2013 Men’s Large Club Fit. Each Participant will receive ONE raffle ticket for each of the 3 Audit Rides scheduled for Saturday October 19th, Saturday October 26th, and Sunday November 3, 2013. Rain-dates will apply if appropriate and will be announced on this forum/medium. The value of these Jerseys is in excess of $80.00: the opportunity to participate in these ride audits…….. PRICELESS!
